Quintrell Gary Linebacker Evanston Class of 2019 5'10 215
I have communicated with Indiana Wesleyan , Illinois College , McKendree University and UW Lacrosse
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I want colleges to know that my under size doesn’t tell the story. I come to work everyday and always improving my game and bringing energy
Favorite memory from last season?
Week 6 against a our rivals New Trier . My defensive coach , Conley comes up to me with the defensive wrist band and tells me “ you’ve earned this start now go take advantage of it” although that game was lost our team fought hard and as I look around after the loss I see our head were not down at all . We all knew how hard we worked everything just doesn’t go as planned sometimes . We all knew how great of a team we were
What do you like about playing linebacker?
I feel I have a lot of responsibility and that I can help my team out in run and pass game on every snap due to my position and being able to knock those lead blockers off there feet and have my other backer make the play
So how does the Evanston defense look this season?
Oh it’s scary. We have the best secondary in the state . And our front 7 are nasty . We return 8/11 starters from last year And we all fly around to the ball . It will be tough to score on Evanston this year
Funniest guy on the Evanston roster?
It’s hard to choice one but it has to be Trenton Bertrand or Jalen Kerr they always keep vibes good . Both corner backs
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
My goal is to help my team get back to November football , no missed tackles which hopefully lead to all conference and maybe even all state recognition
Toughest player you ever faced?
The NIU commit from Maine south last year Fotis Koko for short but he was there running back but he graduated
