NIU, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Iowa, and WIU
What should college coaches know about you?
I have a strong love for football, i will do anything to get the W on the field. I am very competitive in everything i do. No matter who’s next to me, i will always outwork them.
When I say Class of 2021 QB what does that mean to you?
It describes who i am. That’s my position, that’s my grade, i am determined to be the best in the end, everyone else may have height on me but i feel as if i’m up there with them.
What do you like about playing QB?
I’m involved in every play, i get to make everyone around me better. Being a leader plays a big part in this position and i think i’m pretty good at leading the team. Thinking every play keeps me in the game and focused. I love the pressure around me and in the environment.
So how does Harlem football look this season?
We as a team are looking really good, we’ve had a lot of 7 on 7’s. I think we’ve only lost 1 game so far. We have a young offense but we’re very explosive. Our defense is really stepping up this year. I am so excited for August 24th to hurry up and get here!
What advice do you give freshmen starting his first game on varsity?
Just go out and play, don’t give anyone a reason to say you don’t belong. Go out there and prove to everyone why you are starting as a freshman. There will be a lot of talk and you have to live up to it. The first snap i took was nerve racking but after that i just played how i play and did what i needed to do. It may be hard to be a vocal leader as a freshman so if you can’t do that, lead by example. do the right thing even if no one is looking.
What players from Harlem should coaches be taking a look at?
We have a lot of great players but the standouts are Jalon Benson, Brandt Hixson, Dominic McCarren, Bryson Thomas, Connor Aldrich, Seth Kordich, Nick Blades, Patrick Stroup, Chris Houston, Recil Hensley, Leo Ruiz.
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
I have a lot of goals but we’ll start off with leading my team past the first round in the playoffs and even father. More personal would be throw for 4,000 yards, 40 touchdowns, and run more when i have the chance. And most importantly, be the best football player/person i can be!
