So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Antonio Pittman Kankakee Class of 2019 ATH 5'8 173

Antonio Pittman what schools have you been talking to?

Saint Anselm University , Culver-Stockton University, Stetson University, Greenville University, Illinois State Blueboy Football, Mckendree University, Robert Morris Eagles, Clarke University, Wayne State College, Simpson Storm College

What should college coaches know about you?

That I am hard working and also dedicated to my team, they wouldn’t have to worry about a selfish self centered Cocky player if they were to offer me. I catch on quick, I bring energy and get along with everyone. I have the grades to play at the next level, I am a Humble Athlete and I’m Coachable I’m just a student/athlete looking for a home to pursue my future in Sports and Academics also bettering myself as a person.

Favorite memory from last season?

Watching my favorite Coach Joshua Lindstrom in practice and also games watching him jump up and down sprinting around yelling and screaming whenever our team made a play even if it was little he kept that energy in us flowing and also helped us to beat our crosstown rivals after living in their shadow for a whole decade.

What does Kankakee football mean to you?

Kankakee means everything to me it’s where I was born and still being raised I know there’s a lot of negativity being spread around about Kankakee but there’s also a whole bunch positivity within our parents in the community. This is where I first started playing football at the age of 7 years old for Eastside Bulldogs and moving to the next level creating everlasting relationships with all my coaches. Kankakee means everything to me. We all have that will to compete in practice also within games passing that energy around to one another and I am thankful for my alumni for passing us the torch to carry this Kankakee pride on our backs.

So how does Kankakee look this season?

We are looking great coach might not have that many seniors or Captains such as myself but these younger guys love the game and are working hard this off season We’ve had more guys in the weight room this year than we ever had in the previous years played. They are really filling the shoes for the guys who claim they’re going to play but aren’t here.

How big of a influence is Coach Omar Grant been on you?

Coach O has been a Huge influence on my life as an athlete but also as an person. I’ve been working hard since my freshman year even was on the Varsity depth chart because coach Omar seen my potential and ever since he’s been working with me, getting colleges to my school to pull me out of class to speak with them, we’ve also helped Host this 5k running event in our town. We talk a lot about how to make the team better and class. Coach Omar has really impacted my life and I am very thankful for a coach like him just getting the opportunity to work with him is an honor.

Give me a young Kankakee player to be on the lookout for Class 2020-2021?

These are the three most hard working kids of 2020 it would be a hard decision to choose between the three 1.Daquan Burns, 2. Chico Spicery and 3. Mattias Clark. But if I had to choose one it’d be Daquan Burns
