Glenwood's Playmaking Defender Jake Wooldridge Class Of 2019 Talks Recruiting & Upcoming Sea

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Jake Wooldridge Glenwood Class of 2019 6'0 190 LB/S

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Jake Wooldridge could work two ways in a college defense either box safety or linebacker in a multi scheme fit. Very deceptive speed, his hudl does not do him justice for how fast he is. Has a knack for making big plays and you cant teach that instinct.

Jake Wooldridge what schools have you been talking to?

I have been talking to Indiana Weselyan, St.Cloud State, Minnesota State at Moorhead, and Wisconsin-Whitewater, Indiana State

What should college coaches know about you?

I am humble, I work for everything I earn, integrity is a corner stone in what my values are. I was on the US U-16 National team in 2016. For the past 2 years I have volunteered with a local special needs cheer team and with the special olympics. Whenever the coach needs someone to help with something, I’m the first one to help.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory 100% is when we had our home playoff game against Mahomet Seymour . The atmosphere was great, the town was behind us and fans were loud.

What does Central Illinois football mean to you?

It means a lot. We are all local guys playing a sport we all love. The CS8 is one of the hardest conferences in the state to play in. You have to bring your A game every week. Nobody is going to lay down for you. I feel like we (smaller schools) have more of a fan interaction than in like bigger cities. I like central Illinois football, brings out the best competitors year in and year out.

So how does Glenwood Chatham look this season?

We look great I think, lots of returning starters on both sides of the ball. Coach Hay and the whole coaching staff is putting a lot on us, high expectations, and I believe all of us are ready for the challenge. I have seen the amount of work we have put in during the off season, I am excited to start

Toughest player you faced last season?

That is tough. There is about 4 or 5 that are really tough, but I am going to have to say Nick Baker. He read the field very well, had a cannon for an arm, and wasn’t afraid to run the ball if he needed to.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

My goal is to be the best team player I can be. Making other players on my team better. If that means all conference at the end, great but if not then okay. I want to look back and say I helped my team push themselves to get better.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA

RESPECT THE GAME
