St.Viator's Linebacker Class Of 2019 Niko Weder Talks Recruiting, Upcoming Season

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Niko Weder Class of 2019 LB 5'11 210 St. Viator

High motor kid that never gives up and makes a play. Will take on the big guys, and scrap his way to a tackle. I consider Mr. Weder on of top ten linebackers in the state of Illinois for 2019. This kid is a defensive coach's dream just on intangibles alone.

Niko Weder what schools have you been talking to?

Right now I have been talking to UW lacrosse, Augustana, Illinois Wesleyan, and St. Thomas MINN

Favorite memory from last season?

After week 1 when we beat rolling meadows. There was a lot of trash talk leading up to the game since we are only a town over and a few guys from the team live in rolling meadows.

What should college coaches know about you?

I take practice just as seriously as game day and I like to get dirty and grind.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

A personal goal is to lead the conference in tackles and to be all conference again.

What game are you looking most forward to this season?

Week 3 against Joliet Catholic. Our varsity has never beaten them before and I think we have a good shot this year to be the first.

Toughest offensive player you went up against last season?

I went up against a bunch of good offensive players but I’d have to say Ty Gavin was the toughest. He was ESCC MVP and he deserved it

Give me a player on St. Viator that college coaches need to know?

College coaches need to know Nate Peters. He’s is extremely smart on the field and in the classroom. He is super dedicated and a great leader.

How does St.Viator look for this upcoming season?

We lost a lot of our starters but people have stepped up. I think we are going to do good.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
