COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Carter impressed me in the spring, playing in the 7on7 tourney up in Lake Barrington. Runs great clean routes and has great frame to get those hard to reach passes.

Carter Coalson what schools have you been talking to?

Augustana, Beloit, UW Platteville, and Clarke so far

Favorite memory from last season?

I would say during our crosstown game last year we unfortunately had our starting QB go down but we battled adversity as a team pretty well and I scored the final TD to put us up 21-0

What does football mean to you?

It means a lot I’ve grown up in a pretty football oriented family but I would say faith and family are above football but football is very close you never lose the love of the sport.

What game are you looking most forward to this season?

Week 2 against Antioch. Last year we took a hard loss, we were up 14-0 at half and we just failed to execute in the second half some I’m excited to hopefully get some revenge this year

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I like to think I’m a great person to have in your life on and off the field, you know every person battles their own adversity off the field and I have had plenty of my own so I like to kinda help out off the field... Also that I’m apart of a Dual Language program at my school and that I am fluent in both English and Spanish I have been in this program sense kindergarten and I am working towards the seal of biliteracy from the state of Illinois on my diploma

Funniest Guy in the lockerroom?

I would say Elijah Peña. He’s one of my best friends and he is a really good kid he’s had a lot of hard times through life and the fact that he can still find the great things about this world is amazing he’s funny he’s nice and just an all around great kid

Any funny Coach Schroeder stories?

Ya, you know with him being the dean at the school and all he can sometimes be a scary dude, but I can remember one time I got a pass to his office and I went down there and he said “ really Coalson why would you do that” and I have know Idea what he’s talking about so of course I start freaking out and I said that I don’t know what he’s talking about and he said “ really now your gonna lie ok” so at this point I am scared to death and then he just goes... Nahhh I’m just kidding when are you gonna register for camp and I about peed my pants I was really coach I thought I was gonna die

How does Woodstock North look this season?

Really good. You know we’ve had our troubles in the past but we always find a way into the playoffs but I’m the most excited about this year then any i can see us going really far this year.

Favorite route to run?

Post corner, because on my 7v7 team Top Gun I’ve worked with those coaches for three years on sinking my hips and running routes crisp and when I add in that second move. I feel as if that route is impossible to guard

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
