So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.
Kobe Ramirez Galesburg Class of 2019 RB 5'10 185
COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE
Kobe may be one of the best kept secrets in the Illinois. Really like his running style, short chop steps and ability to accel to the second level and make a big play. Keep an eye out for him this summer and fall because I got a feeling you will be hearing more from him.
Kobe Ramirez what schools have you been talking to?
I've talked to Augustana, Wartburg, the RB coach from Western Illinois, and just recently Indiana State Sycamore recruiting
What college camps have you attended or plan on attending?
I plan on attending Indiana State, Augustana, McKendree, Western, SIUE, and maybe Yale
What do you want college coaches to know about you?
I want them to know I'm a little undersized, but my strength and my speed make up for it, I'm explosive through the line, and I'm an extremely hard worker. I do my best to push my teammates, and I'm always looking for a way to improve my game. I just wanna get my name out there to anyone willing to take a chance on me
What does Galesburg football mean to you?
Everything. I love the culture we've built around here. Ever since I decided to play in 7th grade, I realized it's something I love. Coach Wash is just a great guy to have as a coach, and he's built a relationship with not just me, but a bunch of other guys on the team. There's no better feeling than walking out on Van Dyke field on a Friday night, and hearing the crowd scream, and the adrenaline rush is just unreal
Favorite memory from last season?
My favorite memory was probably our team retreat at Wesleyan University. Just getting a chance to really build a bond with my teammates, and competing against great competition is always something that I look forward to
Who is a player or players on Galesburg that College Coaches should take a look at?
Besides myself, Deante Pulley. He's a talented DB. He is a hard hitter, and continues to push himself. He has a layed back attitude, but when it's time to go he definitley is game ready
How does Galesburg look this season?
We look good. We have very committed seniors, and we got juniors who push themselves as much as they can. We got a lot of talent, and guys who work hard. I'm confident in what we have
