Meet Olympia's Jackson Castleman ATH/QB Class Of 2019 Q&A

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Jackson Castleman Class of 2019 Olympia 6'1 195 ATH

COACH BIG PETES TAKE

Castleman can play a lot of spots on the field, that is a huge value for college coaches to have. Really impressed with his speed and really like the touch he has on the ball when he is at QB.

Jackson Castleman what schools have you been talking to?

I’ve talked to a lot of schools from a wide variety, some D3s, NAIA , couple D2s and a few D1s so it’s nice to know i’m being looked at. Had a lotta camp invites and visit invites

What does football mean to you?

To me football is one of if the not the greatest things god invented. Not only is it a game to compete and have fun, but it’s one of the best teaching tools too. I have seen it first hand and experienced all the life lessons that this game has and can teach

Favorite memory from last season?

I think prob just the off the field hanging with the guys making memories, those are the things i’ll remember for sure

Game you are looking most forward to this season?

Obviously we have are teams that we dislike and stuff like that, but i’m just ready for week one. So we can play some football and take each week, one week at a time.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

I mean of course I have some ideas of personal goals but i think my biggest goal is going out there every game competing and winning games. At the end of that day stats don’t matter, and the only thing that does is who has more points at the double zeroes

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

Obviously on the field i feel i can make any throw, but more importantly than that is i feel like i’m a great leader and my knowledge of the game is far above most high school and some college players.

Give me a player on Olympia that college coaches should look out for?

I think we have a lot of underrated guys Matthew Cooksey, Grant Kessinger, Lane Miller and Landon Alcorn are probably on top of that list.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
