So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Jacob Winslow Class of 2019 Geneseo 6'4 250 ATH

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Jacob Winslow can be used in multiple positions, 6'4 and athletic. Could be used on the offense and defensive line, fits alot of defensive line fronts. Jacob is a college coaches dream, a utility type of player that can play many roles on the field.

Jake Winslow what schools are you talking to?

I’m talking to and have visited Southern Illinois twice, Iowa State once Illinois once and am in contact with Cornell, UPenn and Princeton

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory is definitely our last game against Morris. It was the craziest game I’ve been apart of and nobody really thought we could beat them until we did.

What does Geneseo football mean to you?

Geneseo football means a lot to me. It has helped me grow into the person I am today. It has taught me how to overcome challenges and to hold myself accountable in all situations as well as helped me become a leader on and off the field.

Position you feel most comfortable on the field?

Right now I have grown up as a tight end and defensive tackle for my first three years but this off season I’ve been working on tackle and guard footwork so I am ready to play anywhere for next season.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that I love everything about the game. I love the process and the team aspect that football entails. I am very hardworking so I love all the tough moments that football brings and I feel like I become better for it.

What do you tell the incoming Geneseo Freshman football players about the program and what to expect?

The one thing I tell them is that the more work you put in the weight room the better you will be. Expect a day to day grind at practice but when your ringing the bell after a win it’s all worth it. Just trust the process and make the most out of any opportunities you get.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

A goal I have set for myself is to be an all state player this year but most importantly for our team to win a conference championship and make a run in the playoffs.
