COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE
Dylan Shelton is one of the quickest defensive tackles in the state of Illinois. Still very raw, but has alot of potential to one of the best defensive tackles in Illinois for the Class of 2019. Funny the thing is that Dylan can player ER/LB also, which just makes this kid even more interesting to college coaches.
Dylan Shelton what schools have you been talking to?
I have been talking to Western Michigan, Eastern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Central Arkansas and have received an offer from Adams State
What do you like about playing on the defensive line?
Playing on the defensive line is fun to me because it’s fun being able to make plays on the quarterback while at the same time helping my linebackers make plays in order to win
Favorite memory from last season?
Definitely winning state there’s nothing better than seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces when you realize you have accomplished something you set out to do ever since you started playing football as a kid
What should college coaches know about you?
They should know I am a very versatile player and can play multiple positions whether it be a stand up defensive end or middle linebacker
Better feeling getting a sack or getting a tackle for loss on 3rd down?
Getting a sack on 3rd down because there is nothing better than being able to take a shot at the opposing teams quarterback
What motivates a Dylan Shelton?
Honestly friendly competition motivates me whether that be with my teammates, my brother, or my dad. Also, knowing that I can always improve on something and get better at the sport I love helps too
What game are you looking the most forward to this season?
Homewood Flossmoor they have always been one of East’s rivals and it always turns out to be a great game
