Minooka's Center & Long Snapper Class Of 2019 Kyle Williamson Talks Minooka Football

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Kyle Williamson Class of 2019 OL/LS 6'4 210

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Kyle Williamson is an intriguing recruit, 6'4 and very athletic. It will be interesting to watch this fall and his strength building along and with his footwork. Minooka now is producing some quality linemen that are highly disciplined and athletic.

Kyle Williamson what have you been doing in the offseason to improve your game for the upcoming season?

This season I have been coming back from a knee injury and surgery that happened in November during Oswego East, That has been my biggest motivation, I truly believe if you come back from an injury you can come back from anything. I lift 2 to 3 times a day, with my team and at a personal gym I go to, every chance I get. The season and surgery has been my biggest motivation, I came back also with intense physical therapy that I was able to end early from great improvement, I’m still striving to be better than the next day and to keep working this summer as hard as I can.

What should College Coaches know about you?

Coach McAvoy From Benedictine University, I visited there last Friday, Coach Ragone from Augustana, and I’ve talked to a few more coaches but haven’t reached that connection yet and am aiming and still working towards talking to coaches and visiting schools

What does Minooka Football mean to you?

Minooka means everything to me, absolutely everything, the connection we had with eachother with teammates can be compared to brotherhood, I played with those guys since little league, (chanooka braves), I played with Zach Gessner, derek Wentworth, Connor Briley, and more. Not only on the field but off the field, our school spirit was something no other high school can compare too, we may not have the best field, or facility, bet I guarantee you that our stands and student section will be packed and that’s what I love and you can’t find that in many places. Minooka will always be my home.

Any funny Coach Belskis or McCombs stories?

Of course, every Thursday after practice when we are huddled up, Coach belskis would always have a joke for us when tensions were high the night beofre a game and we all loved it. Another scary but funny moment after was one day in practice during summer camp Max Buduris was running a pass route and ran into coach mccombs and we got it on film, at the time this scared us but of course coach McCombs made a joke about it and we all laughed it off and those are the things I will never forget

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

It’s my senior season and it’s crazy to think about but my biggest goal this season is to play without fear and regret on the field, when our season ends i don’t know when it will be but I want to know that I left it all out on the gamefield, practice field, and weightroom.

What players should college coaches take look at from Minooka that haven't yet?

I would say Braden vercler who is going to be a senior made great plays for us last year and is a hard worker, I also believe Connor Etzkorn who will be a junior just works like a dog non stop.
