So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Paul Fay is the offensive linemen that you got to respect. Multi Sport athlete with the ability to play multiple spots on the line. Fay plays with mean streak and has tools to be looked at by D1 programs. Keep an eye out for him in the summer camp season, thats the time 2nd wave of OL buzz hits.
So Paul Fay what schools have you been talking to?
I have visited Northwestern University, Wheaton College, Indiana Wesleyan, Bucknell, Lehigh, Princeton, Holy Cross, and Yale. I have been speaking with Southeast Missouri State, Western Illinois, Drake, and several D2 D3 and NAIA schools.
Favorite memory from last season?
Being undefeated Nic 10 Champs was really special. My personal favorite memory was defeating our big rivals ,Boylan, after coming back from missing two games due to hospitalization for viral encephalitis.
How are you trying to improve yourself in the offseason?
I am training really hard this offseason to get all aspects of my game better, but if I had to pick what I am stressing the most on improving is playing at a lower pad level, working on combo double teams, and my foot speed. Also, I have been practicing snapping for a potential position change to center.
What does Hononegah Football mean to you?
Hononegah football means family to me, I have developed bonds that will never be broken. Hononegah football isn’t all about winning(trust me we love to do) but more about teaching and developing boys into men of good charter, I am thankful my time there so far and am looking forward to putting on the purple and gold one more season.
Game you are looking forward to playing this season?
Personally I don’t have a favorite game, as I mentioned earlier I was hospitalized and missed two games. After hearing the doctors say I could have died I am just thankful to God for every opportunity to play the game I love and give all the glory to Him.
Name me one player that College Coaches should take a look from your team?
Two names come to mind when I hear that question, Zach Hale and Kaden Carenes. Zach is our middle linebacker and one of my best friends I have seen him grow and develop a passion for the game and he has the work ethic to succeed anywhere. Kaden is another big man on the offensive line, 6’7” 330, who has a dream of playing college football as well and is putting the work this offseason to improve.
You wrestle and you do shot put, How has being involved in to both sports helped your football skills?
Wrestling Tony Cassioppi, a 2x state champ and future Iowa Hawkeye, every day this season made me mentally tough, physically tough, and improved my body control greatly. Track has helped me become more explosive and improved my footwork. These both have helped me develop what I believe is my greatest trait, competitiveness. I believe competitiveness is my greatest trait because the desire to win and succeed pushes me to make the sacrifices and put the work in to be successful.
