So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.
Cary-Grove Interior OL Addison West 6'3 245 Class of 2019
Coach Big Pete's Take
Addison West is just that type of throwback guard that puts his nose into the trench fight. Great hand work and ability to get under defenders pads, is what makes Addison dangerous in the 2019 Class.
Addison West what schools have you been talking to?
Well it’s been Ball State, Western Michigan, Wyoming, Cincinnati, Arkansas, Purdue, NIU, Northwestern.
Groves and Ruhland both graduating, What will you miss most about those guys/teammates?
It would probably be just being around them all the time. They were not only great teammates but they were great leaders and role models
What I really come to admire is this unit of Cary Grove Offensive Linemen,, You guys are a tight unit. Why would you say that is?
Gotta give all the credit to that is Coach Manning and Coach Ruhland. They show us a great example of what the great past lineman were like and telling us we do the exact same things if we push our selves
What is one thing in your game that you need to improve?
Definitely need to get much better pass blocking
Toughest defensive linemen you ever faced?
Definitely was Oladipo from Huntley 2 years ago
Know its early, but how does Cary Grove look this season for 2018. What players should college scouts keep an eye out for?
Cary looks fast. We don’t have monsters like me did last year but we got some big boys plus our whole backfield is back and healthy. And I would watch out for Blake Skol
What is one thing that college coaches need to know about you?
I’m athletic. I love pulling and running around on sweeps. I really feel like I’m very good in space
