Q&A with Oswego East Head Coach Tyson LeBlanc

Head Coach Tyson LeBlanc of Oswego East answers some questions before the big game against Oswego High School.

Coach LeBlanc is Coach that everyone should keep an eye on in the future.

What do you see as the biggest challenge on stopping Oswego Football this Friday? The key to stopping Oswego will be the ability to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. they're very physical team and their goal is to impose their will on you they want to run the ball. They also are very good at stopping the Run. So we have to find a way to match their physicality up front.

What does Oswego East Football mean to you ? OE football means a lot to me. It means family, unity, and building a tradition. We have great support from our Administration our students and our parents.

what is key to the success that has helped this program? The biggest thing that has helped us change the culture at OE is the dedication in the offseason. We have a great weight program and our kids have really bought in to what it is we are doing.

What do you want your kids to take away from playing football for you and your coaching staff?

Football is the greatest sport on the planet. It is a microcosm of life. You have to work hard to have success. Things are not always going to go your way and the way you learn to respond to that adversity builds character. We just want to help our young men become better people.

Did you ever think the Wolves would be 5-0? Of course I thought would be 5-0. I'm a head coach I'm supposed to have an optimistic view of our program. Getting to this point hasn't come easy but our kids and staff have put in the time. The key is to be 6-0 after this week.

Positive comments on Oswego Football Players and Coaches? They have built a great program over there and Coach Cooney does a great job preparing their kids. They have tough hard-nosed kids and I have nothing but respect for what they do.

You guys are 5-0... do you see this program becoming a power now? If we can continue to make strides and continue to have dedication from our kids, wee have a chance to build something special. But we are going to take it one day one game and one play at a time. The Oswego community really gets behind their football programs and that always helps.

What do people outside of your area need to understand about Oswego/Kendall County Football that people overlook? There are some very improved programs in the Kendall County area. I think as the population of the county continues to grow, you will see more and more quality football programs from this area of the state.
