So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Dylan Lessman how was your junior season?
My junior season went well, as a team we went from a losing record my sophomore to making the playoffs. As for me personally I started both sides of the ball for a majority of the season and led my team in rush yards as well as touchdowns. Big improvements all around
What does football mean to you?
To me football is all about the feeling of succeeding and showing out for my family and town while growing closer with the family my football team is. And who doesn’t love running around hitting people
What should college coaches know about you?
As a player I feel like I’m overlooked as a wing in a Wing T as most colleges run the spread, I want coaches to know I feel confident catching the ball and playing a slot just as much as I do running the ball.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My speed and field vision.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
Route running/pass catching.
How does Hillsboro look for the upcoming season?
Next year will be our third year with our new coaching staff and offense so we’re really looking too perfect that offense and hopefully make a good playoff run.
Who else on Hillsboro should we be on the lookout for this upcoming season?
One of our receivers, Zander Wells. He’s not the tallest or fastest but undoubtedly the best hands in the conference and a good route runner.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
I would like to be all state and rush for 1500+.
What do incoming Hillsboro players need to know about the program?
Our coaching staff could care less how good you are if you don’t give 100% every rep. The kids who work hard will get the spot here every time
What is your dream school to play for?
Big dream school would have to be Notre Dame. My more slightly reasonable pick is probably Tennessee Tech or the University of West Florida.
