John Gavin how was your junior season?
It was an awesome experience. We really meshed as a team well, which showed because we made it to the State Semis for the first time since 2006. I think I had a good season this year and couldn’t be more excited for this upcoming season.
What does football mean to you?
Football is a huge part in my life. Almost everything I do is to improve myself as a football player; whether that lifting, training, or just watching film in down time.
What should college coaches know about you?
I have played football for over 10 years with coaches that know a ton about football, so I have great game knowledge. I am also good striking by using both hands and feet because of how often we work on it so much during practice.
What do you like about playing linebacker?
I love that you have to use both physical and mental abilities because as a linebacker, you need to know everyone’s job around you to be able to position yourself correctly and because you get to play as violent as you want to.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
My main goal is for Prospect to win state in 7A in this upcoming season. For personal goals, I want to be an All-State player, 100+ tackles, 20+ TFLs, 10+ sacks, and to increase my squat to 495, bench to 295, and power clean to 275 all by the end of 2022.
