Maine South are the 2016 IHSA State Champs, and actually still have talented players on the roster to make another run in 2017. Of Course in the South, New Trier and Evanston would both like to say something about that this season. Up North Vernon Hills runner up in the 5A State Title Game are looking to fend off Highland Park, Maine West, Glenbrook North, and Deerfield.
